Chuck Olney launched Denver’s Major League Lacrosse franchise in 2006 and has led every facet of the team’s development since its commencement. From branding to budgeting, ticket sales to partnership marketing, fan experience to staffing, Olney has helped drive the Outlaws to become the model professional lacrosse team in North America.
In his role with the Outlaws, he was instrumental in bringing additional lacrosse events to the Denver market. INVESCO Field played host to two Major League Lacrosse All-Star Games (2008, 2009), NCAA match-ups including Inside Lacrosse’s ‘Mile High Classic’ featuring Duke University, The University of Virginia, Loyola University, The University of Notre Dame and the University of Pennsylvania, MCLA games featuring the University of Colorado and Colorado State University, and a number of High School State Championship matches. Now Sports Authority Field at Mile High, Olney worked in conjunction with The University of Denver, Visit Denver, and The Denver Metro Sports Commission to be selected to host the NCAA Men’s Lacrosse Quarterfinal game in May 2015.
Currently, Olney serves as the Director of Business Development for Sports Authority Field at Mile High and Stadium Management Company, responsible for event acquisition and the marketing & promotion of major live events including concerts and international soccer. For the Outlaws, he is responsible for procuring new corporate partnerships.
Prior to joining the Broncos organization, Olney was the Head of Global Distribution for Warren Miller Entertainment, overseeing the annual ski film’s worldwide viewership and North American film tour.
Olney received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from The University of Vermont. He and his wife, Sarah, have two children, Jack and Lizzy.
