Vedder began his career as Cornell’s backup goalie before switching to long-stick midfield as a sophomore. Vedder appeared in 16 games as a senior, scoring three goals with three assists and 48 ground balls and played 14 games as a junior with one goal, one assist and 41 ground balls. Vedder Assisted on one goal and picked up six ground balls as a sophomore in his first season as a LSM.
Vedder spent time as a child in Rwanda, where his parents worked for the Wildlife Conservation Society. Vedder Began playing goalie in third grade and played the position through high school at Yorktown High School, where he earned All-America honors and Helped Yorktown High School win a state championship, earning MVP of the title game.
