QUICKLY:

  • Originally drafted by the Baltimore Bayhawks with the fifth overall selection in the 2004 MLL Collegiate Draft
  • Joined the Denver via trade from the Baltimore Bayhawks in exchange for a second round (13th overall) selection in the 2005 collegiate draft and a second round (12th overall) selection in the 2005 supplemental draft
  • Has appeared in the seventh-most games (117) and amassed the eighth-most penalty minutes (61) in MLL history.

2013: Zink appeared in all 14 games as a team captain as Denver became the first MLL team to finish a season undefeated. Zink Earned his second-straight Defensive Player of the Year Award after leading a defensive unit that allowed a league-low 139 points and just three two-point goals and was selected to his seventh-consecutive MLL All-Star team and third-straight All-MLL team. Also, Zink set a career high with two Defensive Player of the Week honors.

2012: Played in 13 games for the Denver Outlaws…Scooped up 17 groundballs…Named MLL Defensive Player of the Year for 2012.

2008: Named to his second MLL All-Star team, Zink appeared in 11 games with Denver and ranked fifth on the team with 25 groundballs...Recorded one ground ball in one postseason game.

Zink totaled 60 games (42 starts) at Maryland, where he collected 138 groundballs and scored one goal...Named first team All-American as a senior, he played 15 games (all starts) and collected a career-best 61 groundballs as a team captain...Also named the William F. Schmeisser Division I Defensive Player of the Year and nominated for the Tewaaraton Trophy (awarded to the nation’s top player)...Made the All-Atlantic Coast Conference team and the ACC All-Tournament team...Ranked second on the team in caused turnovers (42) and groundballs with 62...Earned third team All-American honors as a junior...Helped Maryland to a 7.25 goals against average, playing 16 games (15 starts) with 41 groundballs and a team-best 32 forced turnovers...Held his opposing man scoreless for four games in row late in the season during the Terps’ run to the NCAA Semifinals...Named Maryland Student- Athlete of the Week on May 4 after week in which he had 10 groundballs, 12 caused turnovers and first career goal...Posted career-highs with nine groundballs and seven caused turnovers at Notre Dame (5/3)...Scored his first goal and caused five turnovers vs. Georgetown (4/28, earning Terp Vision Player of the game honors.
